Meet Dr. Key
I am a Doctorate level Clinician and Professor. I utilize connection and the therapeutic relationship to create a supportive space to promote healing for those in need. I am the founder of Key to Change Counseling Services Corp., which began from very humble beginnings in 2014 shortly after my 3rd child was born. This group practice is small enough to foster one on one connection and achieve a level of excellence that I believe is only right in the mental health field, yet big enough that we continue to grow and adapt to the needs of those we serve. I have intentionally built a team of diverse professionals who are passionate, ambitious and driven. I lead with compassion and have always taken a servant leadership approach to building the foundation of staff therapists that I have coined “TeamKey.”
Growing up, I knew I would find myself in a role in which I could make a difference in the world and help those around me. I worked hard and trusted God. I pursued my passion by attending Monmouth University where I received my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work. I became a Clinical Supervisor post grad at Rutgers University. I then went on to receive my Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California. In a full circle way, I am back at Monmouth University as a Professor where I get to lead & teach undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Social Work, right where I began my journey.
In my final year of college at MU, I was invited to a Christian church service that completely changed the trajectory of my life. Building a team of fellow Christian colleagues who also offer Christian counseling services has been a passion and purpose for this group practice. As I am rooted in my faith and believe in being a light to others. I am committed to being the therapist, professor, mentor and supervisor I always needed.
